Experiences of Chinese Tea Culture in Chang'an Base
In order to enrich the after-school life of international students and enhance the understanding of foreign students on traditional Chinese culture, on April 14, 2017, following Deputy Director Yi Xuan of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, 20 international students have come to the off-campus practice base of HUNAU — Chang'an Base to study tea culture.
After entering Chang'an Base, Professor Xiao Wenjun, Director of the Department of Tea Science, first introduces the basic knowledge of tea science to the students, like the types and methods of tea-making in China. After that, under the guidance of Chinese students, international students go to the tea mountain to pick tea. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the 100-mu tea mountain is full of cheerful chatting and laughing from Chinese and foreign students. From the practice of how to pick it, how to process it, how to store it, they fully understand the legend of the oriental magical leaves.
Whether it is China's traditional cultural curriculum or the experience of Hunan culture, all these meet the international students' desire and curiosity about Chinese knowledge. In 2017, the HUNAU will increase the training of international students in the school by a variety of teaching models to tell Chinese stories to international students so as to enhance their recognition of Chinese culture.
