Associate Professor in 1981, full professor in 1985, master's supervisor in 1985, doctoral supervisor in 1990; In 1993-1994 as a visiting professor at the University of Alberta, Canada, and co-author of research; In 1983-1991, head of the Department of Agronomy, Hunan Agricultural University; In 1995 - 2000, he was appointed as the president of Hunan Agricultural University. From 1988 to 2002, he was the representative of the Ninth National People's Congress. In 2001, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is currently director of National Oil Material Improvement Center Hunan Branch, a member of Groupe Consultatif International de Recherche sur le Colza (GCIRC), a member of the Disciplinary Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and a member of the National Science and Technology Progress Awards Jury. Mainly engaged in rapeseed high-yield high-quality cultivation, breeding theory and application research. Based on the research on the growth and development of rapeseed and the formation of yield, the four types of light-temperature ecology of rapeseed and the theory and technical system of rapeseed "Dongfa" were proposed for the first time, which promoted the increase of rapeseed in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. The first developed rapeseed and the use of heterosis new technology has become an important way to utilize the heterosis of rapeseed. In 1987, it was the first high-quality "double low" rapeseed variety Xiangyou No. 11 approved by the state and the first high antibacterial in China. The nuclear disease double-low rape variety Xiangyou No. 15 has bred 22 high-quality rapeseed and promoted more than 300 million mu. In recent years, Guan has presided over the research on mechanical cultivation of rapeseed early-maturing varieties, and proposed a new cultivation of rapeseed "machine broadcast machine, moderate management". The mode has opened up a vast space for the utilization of winter leisure fields in the south. Developed three high (high yield, high oil content, high oleic acid content) rapeseed breeding research, and won the first prize of Hunan Science and Technology Progress Award in 2014; a rapeseed transgenic technology platform established, and developed the first new genetically modified rapeseed line T5 in China. Guan has draw the first rapeseed genetic map, which laid the foundation for gene-localization and cloning; the first determination of Xinjiang wild rapeseed is the new distribution of Sinapis arvensis L. in China. | |||
