Wang received his PhD in Botany in 2002 from Hunan Agricultural University, China. He worked as a visiting scholar from 2011-2013 at the University of California at Riverside, USA. | |||

Xiao has presided over 8 scientific research projects at the national or provincial level, such as National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has extensive experience in the field plant growth and development phytohormones and plant growth regulators, including a) developing highly sensitive new assay based on biosensors for potential real time and in situ analysis of phytohormones. b) Revealing the phytohormonal action mechanisms of seed germination, especially the role of phytic acid and its interaction with phytohormones. c) Bioinformatics.
