In 1983, he studied in Hunan Agricultural University. In 1986, he studied in Beijing Agricultural University. From 1989 to 1991, he was sent to Adelaide University to study molecular virology in Australia. From 1992 to 1996, he was sent to the Institute of Plant Science of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for doctoral papers. From 1996 to 2000, he served as Deputy Director of the Animal and Plant Quarantine Laboratory of the National Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and Director of the Genetically Modified Technology Center (GTC); in 2001, he was hired as a researcher; In 2004, he was the temporary person in charge of the Animal and Plant Inspection Center of the China Academy of Inspection and Quarantine Science; in 2005, he became the Deputy Director, responsible for scientific research and administration. | |||

He has presided over more than 20 scientific research projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and mainly participated in the medium-and long-term planning and research of the State and the General Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection, focusing on the major strategic issues and layout of national biosafety, inspection and quarantine safety, and national economic security. Many major technical problems in quality inspection have been solved, which promoted the extensive application of high and new technology in molecular biology in inspection and quarantine work. Three new pathogens were discovered, and were recognized by international organizations such as the International Society of Viruses. | ||
